When to convert JPG to BMP
Convert JPG to BMP only when the program receiving your photo or artwork specifically needs a BMP file. Zeepora renders the JPG locally in your browser and exports the resulting pixels as an uncompressed 32-bit BMP. Check the new file size and preview before downloading; a format change does not restore details already lost in JPG compression.
Leave width and height empty to keep the JPG dimensions. Enter one dimension to retain the aspect ratio, or use Fit within when a maximum width and height are required. There is no BMP quality setting: the exported BMP stores the decoded pixels without compression.
The BMP is often far larger than the JPG. Zeepora writes a 32-bit BMP, and some legacy programs accept only 24-bit or 8-bit variants; check their exact requirement before converting many files. The original JPG compression artifacts remain visible.

Will converting JPG to BMP improve quality?
No. BMP preserves the pixels decoded from your JPG, including any existing compression artifacts. It cannot recover detail that was already removed from the JPG.
Why is the BMP file so much larger?
JPG compresses photo data; Zeepora writes an uncompressed 32-bit BMP at the selected dimensions. Reducing dimensions can reduce BMP size, but check that the smaller image still suits your destination.
Does this create a 24-bit BMP for an older program?
No. This converter currently exports 32-bit BMP. If the target software specifies 24-bit or another bit depth, verify support before using the output.
