FORMAT GUIDANCE
When to convert SVG to JPG
Convert SVG to JPG when a website, document tool or recipient needs a familiar fixed-size image instead of a scalable vector file. Zeepora rasterizes the SVG locally in your browser, fills transparent areas with your chosen background colour and lets you compare the rendered result before downloading.
Choose the final pixel dimensions before converting, especially when the SVG has no explicit width or height. Start at 92–95% quality for line art, keep Fit within to preserve proportions, and select the background colour that should replace transparency.
JPG is a fixed-size, lossy format with no transparency. Thin lines and text can show compression halos, and enlarging the JPG later can blur it; use SVG, PNG or WEBP instead when scaling or transparency still matters.
SVG vs JPG
| Consideration | SVG | JPG |
|---|---|---|
| Image model | Scalable vector shapes | Fixed raster pixels |
| Transparency | Supported | Replaced by the chosen background |
| Resizing | Scales without pixelation | Best set to final dimensions before export |
| Compression | Text-based vector data | Lossy quality-controlled image |
| Best use | Editing, logos and responsive graphics | JPG-only uploads and broad sharing |
SVG to JPG questions
What size should I use when converting SVG to JPG?
Set the width or height to the pixel size needed by the destination. Entering one dimension preserves the aspect ratio automatically; entering both lets you use Fit within, Crop or Scale.
What JPG quality is best for an SVG?
Start between 92% and 95% for diagrams, text and thin lines. Inspect the actual-size comparison for halos around sharp edges before lowering quality to reduce the file size.
What happens to transparent parts of the SVG?
JPG cannot store transparency. Zeepora fills transparent areas with the background colour selected in Options, so choose white or another intentional colour before converting.
Can I convert an SVG exported from Adobe Illustrator or another design app?
Usually yes, if the browser can render the SVG. Fonts that are not embedded may be substituted, and externally linked images may not appear, so compare the preview with the original before downloading.
Is my SVG uploaded during conversion?
No. Zeepora decodes and rasterizes the SVG locally in your browser. The selected file does not leave your device, and no account is required.
