How to convert AVIF to JPG for free

  1. Select or drop your AVIF files.
  2. Adjust quality, dimensions, resize mode or background when needed.
  3. Select Convert, compare the original and result, then download your JPG file.

The conversion runs locally in your browser. Zeepora does not upload your selected files, require an account, add a watermark or charge a fee.

When to convert AVIF to JPG

Convert AVIF to JPG when an editor, upload form or recipient cannot open AVIF. Zeepora decodes the AVIF in your browser, lets you choose the JPG background and quality, and shows the actual file size and image dimensions before you download.

BEST FOR

Sharing a photographic AVIF with software that accepts JPG but not AVIF, or meeting a JPG-only upload requirement without sending the source image to a conversion server.

STARTING SETTINGS

Leave width and height blank to keep the original pixel dimensions. Start at 90–95% JPG quality for a close-looking photo, then compare detailed areas at actual size. If the AVIF has transparent areas, choose the background colour that should replace them before conversion.

KEEP IN MIND

JPG cannot keep AVIF transparency: transparent pixels are flattened onto your selected background colour. The JPG may be larger than the compact AVIF, and another lossy encode cannot restore detail already missing from the source. Keep the AVIF original if you may edit it later.

AVIF to JPG questions

Will converting AVIF to JPG improve its quality?

No. JPG can make the file easier to open, but it cannot recover detail removed from the AVIF and may introduce additional compression artifacts.

What happens to transparent AVIF areas?

JPG does not support transparency. Zeepora fills the output with your selected background colour before drawing the image, so check the result preview before downloading.

What JPG quality should I use for an AVIF photo?

Try 90–95% first and compare detailed areas at actual size. Reduce quality only if a smaller file is worth the visible change.

Why is my JPG larger than the AVIF?

AVIF may compress the same image more efficiently. The output size also depends on the quality and dimensions you choose; compare the measured sizes instead of assuming JPG will be smaller.

Does AVIF to JPG change image dimensions?

Not by default. Leave width and height blank to keep the source pixel dimensions, or set one dimension to preserve the aspect ratio when resizing.
